Chapter 2 begins by heading into the part in between East and West egg. Specifically he mentions the billboard with Doctor TJ Eckleburg which is an advertisement for an eye doctor (I guess this will end up being important). Tom brought Nick to this part of town to meet his mistress. The mistress is named Myrtle Wilson, wife to George Wilson who owns a mechanics shop. Mr. Wilson still oblivious as ever even though Tom and Myrtle are practically groping each other. Tom secretly tells Myrtle to catch the next train to the city. When they all arrive to the city Tom buys Myrtle a puppy and they go to the apartment they have for themselves where they meet other people and Myrtle's sister, Catherine. Though it seems like everyone else including Catherine seems to ship* Nick and Catherine together, Nick doesn't appear interested in the book. Everyone gets really drunk. Tom and Myrtle argue about Daisy so Tom ends up punching her in the nose and breaking it which isn't very nice. Nick wakes up in a bed.
The Billboard with Dr. T.J Eckleburg is symbolically described as "the eyes of God" by Nick. Tom buys Myrtle a puppy meaninglessly to show he has a lot of money. Nick also seems to not really be sexualizing the women that much which is really odd. He also seems to be interested in the men because the way he describes them is beautiful and he disinterest in Catherine. He also wakes up in a bed with Tom? It isn't full described.
*ship: modern slang for wishing two people/characters to be in a relationship or lovers
