After these events, Nick tries to get in contact with Daisy but the Buchanans are no longer at their address. It turns out there is no one, not even family, who will come to see Gatsby off. A phone call to his house confirms Gatsby's involvement in illegal trade. Gatsby's father didn't come to the funeral, but shows up and talks to Nick. Nick begins to get upset on how Gatsby tried to make many people happy but no one really truly cared about him. One other person comes to the funeral and it is the man with the large glasses from the library. The man agrees with Nick about Gatsby's situation. Nick decides to get out of New York because it all seems fake to him. Jordan and Nick fight so they split. Nick runs into Tom and Tom reveals he told Wilson that the car was Gatsby's. He calls Daisy and Tom careless and he mentioned in a few chapters before he doesn't like careless people.
This is really where Nick gives up everything and reveals how people really. I'm still curious about the man in the glasses and who he truly is. I also don't understand Daisy and Tom's relationship.
