Nothing happens when the morning arrives which is what Nick predicted. Gatsby feeling a little weak admits his past at this part of the story (the story he told earlier). He also admits when he first met Daisy he just wanted to have sex with her but ended up falling in love with her. Gatsby couldn't give her money and after the war all he was sent to Oxford. Daisy couldn't wait on him anymore and that's why she married Tom. Gatsby mentions he is going to drain his pool. Nick tells Gatsby he's a pretty cool guy. Anyway, Wilson is now a widow but suspected that his deceased wife was cheating on him because of the expensive things he found that were hers. He made a conclusion that whoever hit her was the man who was seeing her. Wilson ends up at Gatsby's house and then as Jay dives into his pool Wilson shoots him and himself. Nick finds the bodies.
I feel like Nick kind of proclaimed his love for Gatsby in this chapter. Also Gatsby draining his pool foreshadowed the role it played in his death. I don't understand how Wilson assumed the his wife's other man (really Tom) would be the guy who ran her over. It is also mentioned how Wilson made a big deal to his wife that "God is always watching" and refers to the billboard once again.
